Dr. Kristina Killgrove - Episode 23

Today we talk to Dr. Kristina Killgrove, professor and writer at Forbes.com, about using 3D-printed bones in her osteology classes. She's having students print bones and paint them up to look like the real thing. We'll ask her how that's helping and where she sees the future of 3D printing going.

We'll also talk about an anatomy app and a rock art representation app.

Field Drawing Apps - Episode 22

On today's episode, Chris and Chris talk about field tablet drawing applications. Drawing planviews, profiles, artifacts, and other archaeological phenomena is critical in most field situations. Drawing artifacts and features allows us to bring out specifics that you can't always see in photographs. In traditional field situations, graph paper and a clip board are used to draw. Those drawings are often digitized using Illustrator or they're photocopied. Either way, it's extra work and the chance for error increases. The apps we'll discuss will allow you to draw in the field and avoid the second step.
