Adventures in Preservation - Episode 92

Today Bill White guest-hosts the show for me while I'm away in Italy and gets a real treat. On the show, Bill, Sonia, and Doug interviewed several people from Adventures in Preservation and the Fairfield Foundation. Stopping the Destruction of Wisconsin's Mounds - Episode 91

On today's episode we bring on two Wisconsin archaeologists to talk about the proposed AB620 bill that will basically allow land owners to test mounds for human remains and de-list them from the Wisconsin Historical Society's list if there are none found. Then, they will likely be able to destroy them. It's an important issue for Wisconsin and the entire mid-west, or, anywhere with a similar problem. Please comment below if you have some input on this issue.

No One Is Flying This Thing - Episode 90

We constantly see on Facebook and other social media that field techs are unhappy with the business of CRM. Is it the crew chiefs, the project managers, or the companies that are making them upset? In reality, not really. It's a lack of understanding about the big picture. Once you realize that no one really has any control you then start to see how to REALLY fix the problem.

Missing In Action - Episode 89

Our show is a little bit different today. The panel interviews CRM and Army Corps archaeologist Joe Griffin. Joe recently completed a 1-month tour in Laos to recover the remains of a lost serviceman. The government has an entire program dedicated to this mission and we felt it was a good topic to bring to you, our listeners. We hope you enjoy.

The Paper Legacy and Free Archaeology - Episode 88

Today we talk about how archaeological site recording has been tied to the site form for decades now. How do we go back to recording sites in a scientific way and not in a way the requires us to put all our data into predefined boxes? There are some very different opinions and we'd like to know yours too. We also talk about the concept of free archaeology, or, working after work hours or over. Whether you're salaried or hourly we've all had to do it.
