Daniel Kwan, PhD candidate and host of the Curiosity in Focus Podcast, is studying the relationship between the early subsistence practices and pottery technology of the Shangshan culture (11,400 - 8,600 BP) in Zhejiang Province, China. He is a member of an international research team investigating the Shangshan and the origins of rice agriculture in the lower Yangtze Valley.
